Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav वो शेरनी थी , दिलेर और वतन की मोहब्बत में कुर्बान होने को बेताब थी।  तभी तो उस रोज़ गवर्नर स्टेनले जैक्सन ने जैसे ही दीक्षांत संबोधन शुरू किया वैसे ही उसने सीना तान सामने खड़े होकर गोली चला दी. लेकिन ये क्या गवर्नर जैक्सन को छूकर गोली निकल गई और वह जमीन पर लेट गया. सुरक्षा कर्मियों ने वीणा के गले को कसकर पकड़ लिया, लेकिन वो फायरिंग करती रहीं….

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 6 फरवरी 1932, स्थान, कलकत्ता विश्वविद्यालय, दीक्षांत समारोह चल रहा था, बंगाल के तत्कालीन गवर्नर स्टेनले जैक्सन ने जैसे ही दीक्षांत संबोधन शुरू किया वैसे ही एक युवती ने खड़े होकर गोली चला दी. जैक्सन को छूकर गोली निकल गई और वह जमीन पर लेट गया. अन्य अंग्रेज अफसर ने उस युवती के गले को कसकर पकड़ लिया, लेकिन वो फायरिंग करती रही और पिस्तौल खाली कर दी, हालांकि जैक्सन बच निकला. वो युवती थीं आजादी की दीवानी वीणा दास, वही वीणा दास, जिन्होंने आजाद भारत में विधानसभा चुनाव भी जीता, लेकिन अंतिम समय में वह एकाकी रहीं. TV9 की इस खास सीरीज में आज हम उन्हीं वीर नारी को नमन करते हैं.

1911 में हुआ था जन्म
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav वीणा दास का जन्म बंगाल के कृष्णानगर में 1911 में हुआ था, उनके पिता का नाम बेनी माधव था और माता का नाम सरला देवी था. वीणा दास की प्राथमिक शिक्षा डोसेसन गर्ल्स हायर सेकेंडरी स्कूल में हुई… 1928 में वीणा दास छात्री संघ की अध्यक्ष बनीं, इस संघ में सदस्यों की अधिकतम संख्या 100 थी, इन्हें क्रांतिकारी के तौर पर तैयार किया जाता था. इसी बीच वे साइमन कमीशन के विरोध में अपने कॉलेज के फाटक पर धरने में बैठी, इसके बाद वे युगांतर समूह के संपर्क में आईं.

गर्वनर पर चला दी गोली
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav  वीणा दास- एक संस्मरण पुस्तक के मुताबिक क्रांतिकारी अंग्रेजों को निशाना बनाकर ये जताना चाहते थे कि उनसे कितनी नफरत करते हैं, ऐसे में बंगाल के तत्कालीन गर्वनर स्टेनले जैक्सन को गोली मारने की योजना बनाई गई, तय हुआ कि दीक्षांत समारोह के दौरान उन्हें गोली मारी जाएगी, लेकिन ये कैसे संभव होगा इस पर विचार चल रहा था, तभी वीणा दास ने इसके लिए हामी भर दी, उनके लिए ये काम इसलिए भी आसान था क्योंकि इसी समारोह में उन्हें भी अपनी बीए की उपाधि लेनी थी.

खाली कर दी पिस्तौल, बच गया गवर्नर
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 6 फरवरी 1932 को दीक्षांत समारोह का मुख्य अतिथि स्टेनले जैक्सन ही था, जैसे ही उसने भाषण देना शुरू किया वैसे ही वीणा दास ने खड़े होकर फायरिंग शुरू कर दी. एक गोली उसे छूकर निकल गई, वह मंच पर लेट गया. इतने में उसकी सुरक्षा में तैनात अंगेज अफसर वीणा दास के पास पहुंचा और उनका गला दबा लिया, मगर वह फायरिंग करती रहीं. ऐसे में अंग्रेज अफसर ने उनका हाथ हवा में कर दिया और सारी गोलियां हवा में चल गईं.

सिस्टम को हिला देना चाहती थीं वीणा
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav पकड़े जाने के बाद वीणा ने कहा कि – ‘ गर्वनर उस सिस्टम का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं, जिसने मेरे 30 करोड़ देशवासियों को गुलामी में जकड़ा है, इसीलिए में इसकी हत्या कर पूरे सिस्टम को हिला देना चाहती थी’इसके बाद भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन के दौरान भी वे नजरबंद रहीं. 1946 से 1951 तक वे बंगाल विधान सभा की सदस्य रहीं. 1947 में उन्होंने युगांतर समूह से जुड़े रहे क्रांतिकारी से शादी कर ली, लेकिन उनके निधन के बाद वे उत्तराखंड के ऋषिकेश चली गईं…  26 दिसंबर 1986 को उनका निधन हो गया
