Sea Generate Electricity दुनियाभर में ऊर्जा संकट एक नई चुनौती बनकर उभरा है। इससे लड़ने के लिए वैज्ञानिक नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा स्रोतों से बिजली उत्पादन के तरीके खोजने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। इसी दिशा में कार्य करते हुए भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (आईआईटी) मद्रास के शोधकर्ताओं ने एक ऐसी तकनीक विकसित की है, जिससे समुद्री तरंगों से बिजली उत्पन्न हो सकती है।

  • Sea Generate Electricity समुद्री तरंगों से बिजली उत्पादन की यह तकनीक आईआईटी मद्रास द्वारा विकसित ‘ओशन वेव एनर्जी कन्वर्टर’ नामक उपकरण के कारण संभव हो सका है। इस उपकरण का परीक्षण पिछले महीने सफलतापूर्वक किया गया है। इस उपकरण को तमिलनाडु के तूतीकोरिन तट से लगभग छह किलोमीटर दूर 20 मीटर गहरे स्थान पर तैनात किया गया है। इस उपकरण से अगले तीन वर्षों में समुद्र की लहरों से एक मेगावाट बिजली पैदा करने का लक्ष्य है।

  • Sea Generate Electricity ‘सिंधुजा-1’ नामक इस परियोजना के तहत स्थापित उपकरण में फ्लोटिंग घटक, लंबी छड़ (स्पार) और इलेक्ट्रिकल मॉड्यूल शामिल हैं। समुद्री लहर ऊपर और नीचे होती है, तो गुब्बारे के समान फ्लोटिंग घटक भी ऊपर और नीचे होता है। उपकरण का डिजाइन कुछ इस तरह है कि गुब्बारे जैसी इस प्रणाली में एक केंद्रीय छिद्र होता है, जिससे होकर एक लंबी छड़, जिसे स्पार कहा जाता है, गुजरती है। स्पार को समुद्र तल में स्थापित किया जा सकता है और लहरें इसे प्रभावित नहीं करती हैं। एक सापेक्ष हलचल इलेक्ट्रिक जेनरेटर के रोटेशन और उसके परिणामस्वरूप ऊर्जा उत्पादन में मदद करती है। उपकरण के मौजूदा डिजाइन में स्पार तैरता रहता है और मूरिंग चेन सिस्टम को अपने स्थान पर बनाये रखती है।

  • Sea Generate Electricity आईआईटी मद्रास ने ‘ओशन वेव एनर्जी कन्वर्टर’ का परीक्षण विरया परमिता एनर्जी प्राइवेट लिमिटेड; और मोतीलाल नेहरु राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान, प्रयागराज के सहयोग से किया है। जबकि, विद्युत भंडारण सिस्टम जीकेसी इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंजीनियरिंग ऐंड टेक्नोलॉजी और एमसीकेवी इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंजीनियरिंग, पश्चिम बंगाल द्वारा डिजाइन किया गया है। समुद्र में इस उपकरण को स्थापित करने में वाटरफ्रंट इंजीनिरिंग और इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर प्राइवेट लिमिटेड की भूमिका रही है।

  • Sea Generate Electricity यह पहल भारत को नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा के माध्यम से वर्ष 2030 तक 500 गीगावाट बिजली पैदा करने के अपने जलवायु परिवर्तन संबंधी लक्ष्यों को पूरा करने में मददगार हो सकती है। महासागर इंजीनियरिंग विभाग, आईआईटी मद्रास के प्रोफेसर अब्दुस समद बताते हैं- “भारत के पास 7,500 किलोमीटर लंबी तटरेखा है, जो 54 गीगावॉट बिजली उत्पादन में सक्षम है, जिससे देश की ऊर्जा आवश्यकता को पूरा करने में मदद मिल सकती है। समुद्री जल में ज्वार और महासागरीय तापीय ऊर्जा का भंडार संचित है। भारत में समुद्री लहरों से 40 गीगावाट ऊर्जा का दोहन संभव है।”
