Asaram Case गांधीनगर की अदालत ने महिला शिष्या से एक दशक पुराने दुष्कर्म के मामले में स्वयंभू संत आसाराम बापू को दोषी करार दिया है. आसाराम के खिलाफ यह मामला 2013 में दर्ज किया गया था. सत्र न्यायाधीश डी के सोनी मंगलवार (31 जनवरी) को सज़ा सुनाएंगे. अदालत ने सबूतों के अभाव में आसाराम की पत्नी समेत छह अन्य आरोपियों को बरी कर दिया. अहमदाबाद के चांदखेड़ा थाने में दर्ज प्राथमिकी के मुताबिक, आसाराम ने 2001 से 2006 के बीच महिला से कई बार बलात्कार किया, जब वह अहमदाबाद के बाहरी इलाके मोटेरा में स्थित उसके आश्रम में रहती थी.

Asaram Case लोक अभियोजक आर सी कोडेकर ने कहा, ‘अदालत ने अभियोजन के मामले को स्वीकार कर लिया और आसाराम को भारतीय दंड संहिता की धारा 376 (2) (सी), 377 (अप्राकृतिक यौनाचार) और अवैध रूप से बंधक बनाने से जुड़ी धारा में दोषी ठहराया.’ सूरत की रहने वाली एक महिला ने अक्टूबर 2013 में आसाराम और सात अन्य के खिलाफ बलात्कार और अवैध तरीके से कैद रखने का आरोप लगाते हुए मामला दर्ज कराया था. एक आरोपी की मुकदमा लंबित रहने के दौरान मौत हो गई. जुलाई 2014 में मामले में आरोप पत्र दायर किया गया था.

Asaram Case बाद में, आसाराम के खिलाफ दर्ज शिकायत को अहमदाबाद के चांदखेड़ा पुलिस थाने में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया क्योंकि घटना वहां के आश्रम में हुई थी. गौरतलब है कि वर्ष 2013 में एक किशोरी से दुष्कर्म करने के आरोप में जोधपुर (राजस्थान) की एक अदालत ने 2018 में आसाराम को आजीवन कारावास की सजा सुनाई थी. वह इस समय जोधपुर की जेल में है.
