gaula river history देवभूमि में पहाड़ , घाटियां और नदियां मिलकर बनती हैं उत्तराखंड…. आज हम आपको एक नदी से मिलवाएंगे और उसकी अनसुनी कहानी बताएँगे। क्या आप जानते हैं कि गौला नदी किस स्थान से निकलती है। , नहीं मालूम तो हम आपको बताते हैं कि गौला नदी उत्तराखंड राज्य के पहाड़पानी गांव से निकलती है। इस नदी के बारे में यह भी माना जाता है कि निर्माण भीडापानी, मोरनौला-शहरफाटक की ऊंची पर्वतमाला के जल स्रोतों से होता है। लालकुँआ होती हुई किच्छा (हल्द्वानी के आसपास) पहुंचकर विलीन हो जाती है।

गौला नदी को हिन्दू धर्म के काफी महत्व माना जाता है। पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार स्कंद पुराण में मानस खंड में पुष्पभद्रा नाम से गौला नदी का उल्लेख मिलता है। यह भी माना जाता है कि चित्रशिला घाट और रानीबाग में गौला नदी के तट पर कई धार्मिक काम भी होते रहते हैं।गौला नदी का इतिहास बेहद ही दिलचस्प है। जी हां, कहा जाता है कि गौला नदी की कोई खुद का इतिहास नहीं है, लेकिन जब भी उत्तराखंड की प्रमुख नदियों का जिक्र होता है तो गौला नदी का जिक्र ज़रूर किया जाता है।

एक अन्य मत है कि महाभारत काल में गौला नदी के किनारे ऋषि-मुनि का आश्रम हुआ करता था और नदी का पानी जीवन यापन करने के लिए इस्तेमाल करते थे। आदिकाल में यह प्राचीन नदी ऋषि-मुनियों के साथ-साथ कई गांव भी मौजूद था।गौला नदी उत्तराखंड के लिए बेहद ही खास नदी है। यह उत्तराखंड के कुमाऊ मंडल की हल्द्वानी तहसील की सबसे बड़ी नदी है। हल्द्वानी में नदी पर बैराज का निर्माण किया गया है जो सिंचाई के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है। इसके अलावा मुख्य रूप से नैनीताल जिले में बहती है और नैनीताल में सिंचाई पर पेयजल के लिए बहुत इस्तेमाल होता है।
