Obesity Junk Foods  को लेकर फिक्रमंद उपभोक्ता मामलों का मंत्रालय (Consumer Affairs Ministry) सेहत के लिए नुकसानदेह माने जाने वाले जंक फूड (Junk Food) से जुड़े विज्ञापनों पर लगाम लगाने के एक प्रस्ताव पर विचार कर रहा है. उपभोक्ता मामलों के मंत्रालय के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने कहा कि हाल ही में एक बैठक में महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय (Ministry of Women and Child Development) ने इस बारे में एक सुझाव दिया है…. महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय ने राष्ट्रीय परिवार स्वास्थ्य सर्वे (National Family Health Survey) से मिले आंकड़ों का जिक्र करते हुए कहा है कि देश में बच्चों के बीच बढ़ता मोटापा इसका एक सबूत है.

सूत्र बताते हैं कि भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा एवं मानक प्राधिकरण (FSSAI) भी खाद्य उत्पादों के पैकेट पर पौष्टिक तत्वों का ब्योरा देने से संबंधित नियमों के साथ सामने आया है…..बताया जा रहा है कि Obesity Junk Foods  से संबंधित विज्ञापनों के असर को देखते हुए बच्चों पर केंद्रित विज्ञापनों के प्रावधान भी भ्रामक विज्ञापनों पर रोक संबंधी दिशानिर्देश में शामिल किया जा सकता है… संभव है की ये बेहद महत्वपूर्ण दिशानिर्देश चंद दिनों यानी मार्च के अंत तक जनता के बीच आ जाएगी।

FSSAI ने ऐसे Obesity Junk Foods प्रॉडक्ट्स की पैकिंग में दी जाने वाली सूचनाओं के स्थान में बदलाव किए जाने की योजना बनाई है. ‘जंक फूड’ नियमन के लिए उत्पादों में प्रमुखता से पोषण संबंधी जानकारी देने की योजना है…. उत्पाद की पोषण संबंधी जानकारी को उत्पाद पैकिंग में प्रमुखता के साथ एकदम सामने प्रकाशित करने की योजना है…..पैकेट में पीछे के बजाय, ग्राहकों को सरलता से दिखाई देने वाले स्थान पर खाद्य पदार्थ के बारे में जानकारी प्रकाशित होगी…. ऐसी जानकारी उत्पाद पैकिंग में पीछे की तरफ या किनारे के बजाय अब अधिक स्पष्ट और सामने की तरफ होगी….
