4 मई की रात्रि में एक महिला कोमल (काल्पनिक नाम) ने थाना क्लेमेंटाउन में आकर लिखित तहरीर दी कि वो 30 अप्रैल को अपने दोस्त का बर्थडे मनाने अपने घर चंडीगढ़ से देहरादून आई थी। 3 मई को रात लगभग 9ः30 बजे मेरे दोस्त ने मुझे शिमला बाईपास पर छोड़ा, जहाँ से मुझे एक कार चालक ने लिफ्ट दी और बताया कि वो आईएसबीटी जा रहा है, और मुझे भी आईएसबीटी छोड़ देगा । जिस पर कोमल कार चालक की बातों में आकर कार में बैठ गई

Dehradun Police News जैसे ही वो आईएसबीटी पहुंचे तो कोमल ने कार चालक से गाडी रोकने को कहा तो ड्राइवर ने उसे धमकाते हुए चुपचाप बैठने को कहा और कार के शीशे बंद करते हुए गाडी के दरवाजे लॉक कर दिये। उसके बाद वह उसे जबरदस्ती आशारोडी से आगे जंगल में ले गया, जहां उसने गाडी में ही पीड़िता के साथ जबरदस्ती बलात्कार किया और उसका बैग जिसमें पैसे व अन्य सामान था लूट लिया इतना ही नहीं उस व्यक्ति ने धमकी देते हुए कोमल को वहीं जंगल में छोडकर भाग गया।
Dehradun Police News घटना की जानकारी देते हुए पीड़िता ने बताया कि वो काफी डर गयी थी तथा डर के कारण रात भर वहीं जंगल में ही छिपी रही। सुबह होने पर किसी तरह आईएसबीटी तक पहुंची तथा अपने दोस्त को जानकारी करते हुए उससे मिलकर उसे सारी बातें बतायी। लिखित तहरीर के आधार पर तत्काल थाना क्लेमेंटाउन पर सम्बन्धित धाराओं में केस दर्ज़ करते हुए बड़े अफसरों को सुचना दी गयी। घटना की गम्भीरता को देखते हुए पुलिस उपमहानिरीक्षक/वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक देहरादून दिलीप सिंह कुंवर ने पीडित महिला की हर सम्भव सहायता करने तथा अज्ञात वाहन चालक की गिरफ्तारी के आवश्यक दिशा निर्देश दिये ।
Dehradun Police News इसके बाद तत्काल थाना क्लेमेंटाउन व एसओजी की संयुक्त टीम का गठन किया और अज्ञात वाहन चालक की तलाश घटना स्थल व आने जाने वाले मार्गों के लगभग 150 सीसीटीवी फुटेजों को खंगाला गया। सीसीटीवी फुटेजों के बाद वाहन संख्या: यू0के0-07-टीबी-7179 का घटना में संलिप्त होना पाया गया। पुलिस टीम द्वारा ने इस वाहन के सम्बन्ध में जानकारी करते हुए चंद घंटे में ही घटना में संलिप्त अभियुक्त मनीष कुमार को उसके गांव खुशहालीपुर बिहारीगढ से गिरफ्तार कर लिया। जिसकी निशानदेही पर महिला से लूटा गया बैग व कपडे बरामद किये गये। अभियुक्त टैक्सी चालक है जो देहरादून से सहारनपुर व अन्य रूटों पर टैक्सी चलाता है।
