UPWWA Great Works इन तस्वीरों में जो महिलाएं आपको दिख रही हैं दरअसल वो अपने हांथों से अपना भविष्य बन रही है। इसमें मददगार बन रही है उपवा की संवेदनशील मुखिया डॉ अलकनंदा अशोक , जी हाँ अपने घर में फूलों का खुशबूदार संसार सजाने वाली और मशहूर लेखक और उत्तराखंड के डीजीपी अशोक कुमार की पत्नी डॉ अलकनंदा के प्रयासों से चमोली में पुलिस परिवार की महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की पहल शानदार है। यहाँ पिरूल से विभिन्न प्रकार की सामग्रियां बनाने का प्रशिक्षण दिया जा रहा है।

UPWWA Great Works Uttarakhand Police wives welfare association (UPWWA) की अध्यक्षा डा0 अलकनन्दा अशोक की सोच ने धरातल पर मूर्त रूप लिया और चमोली एसपी प्रमेन्द्र डोबाल के निर्देशन में इसको साकार कर रही हैं पुलिस उपाधीक्षक/नोडल अधिकारी (उपवा) नताशा सिंह , जिनके नेतृत्व में पुलिस परिवार की महिलाओं को गोदाम्बरी देवी द्वारा पिरूल से विभिन्न प्रकार की सामग्रियां जैसे टोकरी, टी कोस्टर, फूलदान, प्लेट, मंदिर के लिए पूजा की टोकरी, जूड़े के लिए क्लिप आदि अन्य सजावट की सामग्रियां बनाने का प्रशिक्षण दिया जा रहा है।


UPWWA Great Works उपवा की इस पहल से महिलाओं में आत्मविश्वास व आत्मनिर्भरता की भावना जागृत हो रही है । उक्त प्रशिक्षण में पुलिस परिवार की महिलाओं द्वारा भी बढ़ चढ़कर हिस्सा लिया जाना सुखद कामयाबी है यहाँ इन महिलाओं में काफ़ी उत्साह देखने को मिल रहा है। उपवा के तहत पुलिस परिवार की महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की पहल का महिलाओं ने भी स्वागत किया है।प्रशिक्षण के दौरान महिला आरक्षी अनीता, महिला आरक्षी पिंकी व पुलिस परिवार की महिलाएं अभियान को आगे बढ़ा रही है।
