उत्तराखंड के क़ृषि मंत्री Ganesh Joshi गणेश जोशी विश्व भर में ख्याति प्राप्त एवं भारतीय हरित क्रांति क़ो साकार करने में अहम भूमिका निभाने वाले पंतनगर विश्व विद्यालय पहुँचे। विश्वविद्यालय की समस्याओं क़ो सुन कर क़ृषि मंत्री ने तत्काल सचिव क़ृषि क़ो तत्काल तलब किया और समस्त समस्याओं क़ो संज्ञान लेने तथा ज्यादा गंभीर समस्याओं पर तत्काल समाधान करने के निर्देश दिए।

- अब इसको इत्तेफ़ाक़ ही कहेंगे कि जब सोमवार को क़ृषि मंत्री Ganesh Joshi अपने पहले दौरे के दिन पंतनगर विश्वविद्यालय पहुंचे तो नये कुलपति डॉ. ए के शुक्ला द्वारा भी उसी दिन कार्यभार लिया गया। विश्वविद्यालय के सभी आठ महाविद्यालयों के प्रतिनिधियों की उपलब्धियों और समस्याओं क़ो ध्यानपूर्व एवं दो घंटे तक विस्तार पूर्वक सुनने के बाद कैबिनेट मंत्री गणेश जोशी ने कहा की मेरे लिए यह विभाग अभी नया है, मैं अभी कार्यप्रणाली क़ो समझ रहा हूँ ।
- Ganesh Joshi परन्तु जहाँ समझ में आ रहा है वहां ऑन द स्पॉट ही समाधान भी कर रहा हुँ । अभी उद्यान की बैठक में समझ आया कि अटैचमेंट के कारण काम बाधित हो रहा है, इसलिए तत्काल आदेश देते हुए उद्यान विभाग कृषि विभाग तथा ग्राम विकास विभाग निरस्त कर दिया गया है।

- कृषि मंत्री Ganesh Joshi ने कहा कि जिन समस्याओं की बात हो रही है वो तीन प्रकार की हैं। कुछ बातें केंद्र सरकार स्तर की हैं और कुछ समस्याओं क़ो आप अपने लोकल स्तर से ही निकलते हैं। कृषि मंत्री ने कहा कि वो उन्हें यकीन दिलाते हैं कि शासन स्तर से उनकी जो भी समस्याएं हैं उनका वाजिब और अविलंब समाधान निकाला जाएगा। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि वो एक फौजी होने के नाते रिजल्ट ओरिएंटेड काम चाहते हैं लिहाज़ा वो जो कहते हैं दो टू कहते हैं।
- Ganesh Joshi उन्होंने विश्वविद्यालय अधिकारियों को अपने लक्ष्य निर्धारित करने का निर्देश दिया और कहा कि मैं 3 महीने के बाद फिर से इन कामों की रिपोर्टिंग लूंगा। आप मुझे बताएंगे कि आप के आय के स्रोत क्या है आपकी आय को कैसे बढ़ाया जा सकता है? और आपके उपलब्ध संसाधनों का कैसे ज्यादा बेहतर ऑप्टिमाइज़ यूज किया जा सकता है? ब्रीडर सीड का कितना उत्पादन किया जा रहा है और उसमें उत्तराखंड को कितनी प्राथमिकता दी जा रही है? वेटरनरी में पिछले 5 सालों में क्या उपलब्धियां प्राप्त की गई हैं? . ….
- सूत्र बताते हैं कि कृषि मंत्री की इस पहली मीटिंग के बाद कुछ अधिकारियों में जहाँ जोश नज़र आ रहा है वहीँ विभाग के कुछ अधिकारी ऐसे भी हैं जो मंत्री के तेवर से थोड़ा असहज भी हैं।
