Garun Puran हिन्दू धर्म के शास्त्र पुराणों में एक महत्वपूर्ण ग्रंथ है, इस ग्रंथ में कई विशेष बातों का वर्णन मिलता है। इस ग्रंथ में खासकर जीवन और मरण और मरने के बाद क्या होता है और किस तरह मृतक के लिए हमें क्या करना चाहिए उसका भी वर्णन मिलता है।

Garun Puran : नर्क में लोगों को बहुत ही भयानक सजाएं मिला करती हैं।

Garun Puran :

1. महावीचि– यह नर्क पूरी तरह रक्त यानी खून से भरा है और इसमें लोहे के बड़े-बड़े कांटे हैं। जो लोग गाय की हत्या करते हैं, उन्हें इस नर्क में यातना भुगतनी पड़ती है।

2. कुंभीपाक– इस नर्क की जमीन गरम बालू और अंगारों से भरी है। जो लोग किसी की भूमि हड़पते हैं या ब्राह्मण की हत्या करते हैं। उन्हें इस नर्क में आना पड़ता है।

3. रौरव– यहां लोहे के जलते हुए तीर होते हैं। जो लोग झूठी गवाही देते हैं उन्हें इन तीरों से बींधा जाता है।

4. मंजूष– यह जलते हुए लोहे जैसी धरती वाला नर्क है। यहां उनको सजा मिलती है, जो दूसरों को निरपराध बंदी बनाते हैं या कैद में रखते हैं।

5. अप्रतिष्ठ– यह पीब, मूत्र और उल्टी से भरा नर्क है। यहां वे लोग यातना पाते हैं, जो ब्राह्मणों को पीड़ा देते हैं या सताते हैं।

6. विलेपक– यह लाख की आग से जलने वाला नर्क है। यहां उन ब्राह्मणों को जलाया जाता है, जो शराब पीते हैं।

7. महाप्रभ– इस नर्क में एक बहुत बड़ा लोहे का नुकीला तीर है। जो लोग पति-पत्नी में फूट डालते हैं, पति-पत्नी के रिश्ते तुड़वाते हैं वे यहां इस तीर में पिरोए जाते हैं।

8. जयंती- यहां जीवात्माओं को लोहे की बड़ी चट्टान के नीचे दबाकर सजा दी जाती है। जो लोग पराई औरतों के साथ संभोग करते हैं, वे यहां लाए जाते हैं।

9. शाल्मलि- यह जलते हुए कांटों से भरा नर्क है। जो औरत कई पुरुषों से संभोग करती है व जो व्यक्ति हमेशा झूठ व कड़वा बोलता है, दूसरों के धन और स्त्री पर नजर डालता है। पुत्रवधू, पुत्री, बहन आदि से शारीरिक संबंध बनाता है व वृद्ध की हत्या करता है, ऐसे लोगों को यहां लाया जाता है।

10. महारौरव- इस नर्क में चारों तरफ आग ही आग होती है। जैसे किसी भट्टी में होती है। जो लोग दूसरों के घर, खेत, खलिहान या गोदाम में आग लगाते हैं, उन्हें यहां जलाया जाता है।

11. तामिस्र– इस नर्क में लोहे की पट्टियों और मुग्दरों से पिटाई की जाती है। यहां चोरों को यातना मिलती है।

12. महातामिस्र– इस नर्क में जौंके भरी हुई हैं, जो इंसान का रक्त चूसती हैं। माता, पिता और मित्र की हत्या करने वाले को इस नर्क में जाना पड़ता है।

13. असिपत्रवन– यह नर्क एक जंगल की तरह है, जिसके पेड़ों पर पत्तों की जगह तीखी तलवारें और खड्ग हैं। मित्रों से दगा करने वाला इंसान इस नर्क में गिराया जाता है।

14. करम्भ बालुका– यह नर्क एक कुएं की तरह है, जिसमें गर्म बालू रेत और अंगारे भरे हुए हैं। जो लोग दूसरे जीवों को जलाते हैं, वे इस कुएं में गिराए जाते हैं।

15. काकोल– यह पीब और कीड़ों से भरा नर्क है। जो लोग छुप-छुप कर अकेले ही मिठाई खाते हैं, दूसरों को नहीं देते, वे इस नर्क में लाए जाते हैं।

16. कुड्मल– यह मूत्र, पीब और विष्ठा (उल्टी) से भरा है। जो लोग दैनिक जीवन में पंचयज्ञों ( ब्रह्मयज्ञ, देवयज्ञ, भूतयज्ञ, पितृयज्ञ, मनुष्य यज्ञ) का अनुष्ठान नहीं करते वे इस नर्क में आते हैं।

17. महाभीम– यह नर्क बदबूदार मांस और रक्त से भरा है। जो लोग ऐसी चीजें खाते हैं, जिनका शास्त्रों ने निषेध बताया है, वो लोग इस नर्क में गिरते हैं।

18. महावट– इस नर्क में मुर्दे और कीड़े भरे हैं, जो लोग अपनी लड़कियों को बेचते हैं, वे यहां लाए जाते हैं।

19. तिलपाक– यहां दूसरों को सताने, पीड़ा देने वाले लोगों को तिल की तरह पेरा जाता है। जैसे तिल का तेल निकाला जाता है, ठीक उसी तरह।

20. तैलपाक– इस नर्क में खौलता हुआ तेल भरा है। जो लोग मित्रों या शरणागतों की हत्या करते हैं, वे यहां इस तेल में तले जाते हैं।

21. वज्रकपाट– यहां वज्रों की पूरी श्रंखला बनी है। जो लोग दूध बेचने का व्यवसाय करते हैं, वे यहां प्रताड़ना पाते हैं।

22. निरुच्छवास– इस नर्क में अंधेरा है, यहां वायु नहीं होती। जो लोग दिए जा रहे दान में विघ्न डालते हैं वे यहां फेंके जाते हैं।

23. अंगारोपच्य– यह नर्क अंगारों से भरा है। जो लोग दान देने का वादा करके भी दान देने से मुकर जाते हैं। वे यहां जलाए जाते हैं।

24. महापायी– यह नर्क हर तरह की गंदगी से भरा है। हमेशा असत्य बोलने वाले यहां औंधे मुंह गिराए जाते हैं।

25. महाज्वाल– इस नर्क में हर तरफ आग है। जो लोग हमेशा ही पाप में लगे रहते हैं वे इसमें जलाए जाते हैं।

26. गुड़पाक– यहां चारों ओर गरम गुड़ के कुंड हैं। जो लोग समाज में वर्ण संकरता फैलाते हैं, वे इस गुड़ में पकाए जाते हैं।

 

27. क्रकच- इस नर्क में तीखे आरे लगे हैं। जो लोग ऐसी महिलाओं से संभोग करते हैं, जिसके लिए शास्त्रों ने निषेध किया है, वे लोग इन्हीं आरों से चीरे जाते हैं।

28. क्षुरधार– यह नर्क तीखे उस्तरों से भरा है। ब्राह्मणों की भूमि हड़पने वाले यहां काटे जाते हैं।

29. अम्बरीष– यहां प्रलय अग्रि के समान आग जलती है। जो लोग सोने की चोरी करते हैं, वे इस आग में जलाए जाते हैं।30. वज्रकुठार– यह नर्क वज्रों से भरा है। जो लोग पेड़ काटते हैं वे यहां लंबे समय तक वज्रों से पीटे जाते हैं।
