देहरादून में जन्मी सिंघल ने गढ़वाल विश्वविद्यालय देहरादून से स्नातक की पढ़ाई पूरी की और फिर अपने पहले प्रयास में आईएएस की परीक्षा पास की। वह अपने स्कूल के दिनों से लेकर विश्वविद्यालय की परीक्षा तक टॉपर की सूची में शामिल रही और उनका अकादमिक ट्रैक रेकॉर्ड काफी बेहतर रहा। आईएएस बनने के बाद हजारीबाग के रूप में एसडीओ में कार्य करने के दौरान उन्होंने विभिन्न गोदामों पर की और शिक्षा परियोजना की ओर से बच्चों को दी जाने वाली किताबों की अवैध बिक्री का भंडाफोड़ किया। पूजा सिंघल से ही शारीरिक रूप से अक्षम लोगों का डेटा एकत्र करने के लिए झारखंड में पहली बार विकलांग सर्वेक्षण भी किया। रिम्स निदेशक के रूप में भी लोग उनके योगदान को याद करते हैं। उन्होंने राज्य के सबसे बड़े सरकारी अस्पताल की व्यवस्था को सुधारने में बड़ी भूमिका निभायी।

21 साल की उम्र में IAS बनी थीं पूजा

उत्तराखंड की रहने वाली पूजा सिंघल 21 साल की उम्र में IAS बन गई थीं। 21 साल की पूजा सबसे कम उम्र में IAS कैडर में प्रवेश करने के लिए पूजा सिंघल का नाम लिम्का बुक ऑफ रिकॉर्ड्स में दर्ज किया गया था। पूजा साल 2000 बैच की भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (आईएएस) की अधिकारी हैं। झारखंड के कई जिलों में DC रहने के बाद फिलहाल वो सेक्रेटरी के पद पर कार्यरत हैं।
