  • Latu Devta Temple अद्भुत और रहस्यों से भरे  उत्तराखंड में सबसे लंबी पैदल यात्रा नंदा राजजात निकलती है। इस यात्रा का 12वां पड़ाव इस मंदिर में होता है। इस यात्रा को श्रीनंदा देवी की राजजात यात्रा कहते हैं। यह मंदिर है लाटू देवता का। मान्यता है कि इस मंदिर में लाटू देवता वाँण से लेकर हेमकुंड तक अपनी बहन नंदा देवी की अगवानी करते हैं।यह मंदिर सिर्फ एक दिन वैशाख पूर्णिमा के दिन ही खुलता है और उसी दिन मंदिर में ब्राह्मण आंखों पर काली पट्टी और मुंह पर कपड़ा बांधकर मंदिर में पूजा अर्चना करते हैं. ऐसा माना जाता है कि नागराज अद्भुत मणि के साथ मंदिर में रहते हैं. मणि का तेज इतना अधिक होता है कि जो मनुष्य की आंखों की रोशनी को भी खत्म कर सकता है, इसलिए मंदिर में जाना वर्जित है.

  • Latu Devta Temple पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार, लाटू देवता उत्तराखंड की आराध्य देवी नंदा देवी के धर्म भाई हैं. जब भगवान शिव का माता पार्वती के साथ विवाह हुआ, तो पार्वती (नंदा देवी) को विदा करने के लिए सभी भाई कैलाश की ओर चल पड़े. इसमें उनके चचेरे भाई लाटू भी शामिल थे. रास्ते में लाटू देवता को प्यास लगी. वह पानी के लिए इधर-उधर भटकने लगे. उन्हें एक कुटिया दिखी, तो लाटू वहां पानी पीने चले गए. कुटिया में एक साथ दो मटके रखे थे, एक में पानी था और दूसरे में मदिरा थी. लाटू देवता ने गलती से मदिरा पी ली और उत्पात मचाने लगे. इससे नंदा देवी को गुस्सा आ गया और उन्होंने लाटू देवता को श्राप दे दिया. मां नंदा देवी ने गुस्से में लाटू देवता को बांधकर कैद करने का आदेश दिया.
