Man never saw woman दरअसल, एक शख्स 82 साल तक इस जिंदा रहा, बिना यह जाने कि महिलाएं भी हमारे समाज का हिस्सा है। वह अपने आखिरी समय तक महिलाओं को एक काल्पनिक कथा का एक काल्पनिक हिस्सा मानता था। यहां तक कि वह ज्यादा लोगों से भी नहीं मिला। यह कोई किताब या फिल्म का कहानी नहीं है बल्कि एक असली किरदार है, जो ग्रीस के हल्‍कीदिकी का रहने वाला था। 1856 में जन्मे इस शख्स का नाम मिहेलो टोलोटोस (Mihailo Tolotos)था। जन्म के कुछ समय बाद ही उसकी मां की मौत हो गई, तभी से ही माउंट एथोस के एक मठ में रहने लगा, जिसका पालन-पोषण रूढ़िवादी भिक्षुओं ने किया।

Man never saw woman उस मठ के नियम काफी सख्‍त थे, जहां ना तो महिलाओं को आने की अनुमति थी और ना ही पशुओं को। यह कानून हजार सालों से इस मठ का हिस्सा बना हुआ है, जो आज तक चल रहा है। ऐसे में टोलोटोस ने कभी मठ नहीं छोड़ा, जिसका परिणाम आप सब सुन रहे हैं। हालांकि, ये नियम सिर्फ अविवाहित रहने के लिए था और यहां के भिक्षु बाहर जा सकते थें, लोगों से मिल सकते थें, दुनिया घूम सकते थें। 1938 में जब उसकी मौत हुई तो उसे भी बाकी भिक्षुओं की तरह दफन कर दिया गया।
